I got some spare time in the weekend (a rare event lately) so I quickly setup a solo game of Planet 28. I'm planning a big game with 6 players the following weekend so I really need to iron out the rules and parties. Also it was nice to finally use my terrain after starting this project almost 9 months ago!
This game was the first game from the Planet 28 solo supplement, and it is the first part of the Escape from Lychester. So here are some pictures along with a hastily put together battle report.
The sleepy town of Lear. The objective to get from the spaceport to the airlock gate in the opposite corner (red and grey walls) with at least 50% of the party.

The party who have just landed on this planet

The local rebels having a committee meeting, and deciding whether or not to attack the party

First turn. The rebel got initiative and moved towards the adventurers

Meanwhile the party advance unaware of the threat

Shots are fired and the party finds themselves attacked from 2 directions and nowhere to retreat!

Things get up close and personal. The first rebel worker is killed. Meanwhile the other rebels have wounded a couple of party member with their pistols

The rebels win the initiative and overwhelm the adventurers. Things are looking grim.

After softening up the party with shooting, some more rebels charge in and one of the party is killed

Realising they need to break off, the party tries to edge past the rebels. But they almost all are engaged in combat. They still haven't killed enough rebels.

Finally the adventurer get revenge. One of the rebels is killed and then but one of the rebels break and begins to run away (I'd forgotten the morale rules up to this point).

Another rebel breaks and routs, but time is running out for the party to reach the airlock. There are still a lot of rebels in the way to their goal.

Another party member down. After being shot at a few times they succumb to a rebel charge and are killed. With only 5 members the party can't afford another casualty.

The party break off and try to move towards the airlock.

After killing another rebel they turn to each other and yell "Lets get the f&^k out of here!"

One rebel continues to chase but the adventurers get the initiative and put some space between them

Unfortunately it is all in vain as only one of the party makes it to the airlock in time!

Overall it was a great game and very tense. The party (I really need to give them some names) struggled to shoot the rebels and paid the price in terms of casualties and winning. The rebels also had 2 rounds where they won the initiative and were able to inflict a bit of damage.
