Ignatieff, I just saw these over at Steve Deans

They are from a company called Cavalcade Games which I have never heard of before. The cattle are quite the dog's bollocks though.

Reasonably priced, too!
Aye. I'm gettin' me some oxen for the NWF to haul antiquated artillery pieces.

I'd be interested to see a tutorial on how you do the harness etc for them. I'd like to have some to replace my horses for hauling supply wagons in darkest Africa.

well, a harness is basically a stuffed leather ring attached to a wooden one - this makes the yoke and is attached to the pole
alternatively You can disscard the leather buffer
the more primitive method is tying the horns to a solid stick which is then attached to the yoke-pole

It's just making the things in 28mm is the problem  ;)

Excellent stuff.  Many thanks

Am in the process of acquiring some African wildlife for the next 'League of Extraordinary Kriegspielers' outing this August (working title: The Loin in Africa), and have just ordered the Foundry sets.  I think I may have boobed.  The giraffes arrived this morning and they are pretty poor.  Poor animation and almost 2 dimensional......anyone want some lead fishing weights?

The waterline croc is better and the hippos look good on the website (but then so did the giraffes...)

Anyone got any better ideas, for specifically - giraffes, lions, zebras and antelope, wilderbeasts?

P.S. It was African buffalo I was after (I now realise), not water buffalo.  The heads look quite different.  Any suggestions?
