Hi all,
I spent a very pleasant Saturday as a guest of Warlord Games playing the Battle of Trafalgar with the 1:700 Warlord collection of model ships using Black Seas.

With an invited group of players and spectators we enjoyed a full day of gaming recreating this famous battle in the grand manner.

Whilst also getting an opportunity to experience the dietary delights of the life at sea together with the practicalities of loading a 32-pounder gun with just one roundshot, honestly if you have not picked up a ball of this weight I would recommend not doing so!

Often it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all possible doubt.

From reading the blog - were all the ships and terrain all supplied by you? If so great work.

Wasn’t sure if the game was using Warlord’s own stock of ships.

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for your comments and we all had a great day.

Yes indeed the model collection is mine and was started back in 2019 soon after Warlord Games released the range of models and the excellent sea cloths are also mine and are from Tiny Wargames.

My plan for the collection is to be able to put on these large ‘grand manner’ style sea battles from this period for groups of invited players as a charity raising event and so it was important to try out the set up for real to see the logistics of doing it.

Love the weevils in the hardtack biscuit!

Would love to be able to collect like this…but my fingers aren’t nimble enough or eyesight sharp enough…..very jealous!
