I always like seeing toys and other things converted into miniatures and you did an amazing job.
Like others have said, you've managed to make gold look great on a creature. Excellent!

Okay I admit it, saw the first picture, thought, I don't remember that illustration.. then I woke up a bit and realized its not the illustration. 

Very nice conversion, hopefully in future battles he lasts a bit longer on the field.

Those toys do make for some nice conversion fodder, and your PJ and re-modelling does it far more justice than its original colors.
