Thanks for all the kind words...it's been a vastly more in-depth project than I ever intended, particularly considering it was a spin-off of the original project (Merciless, a fantasy version of the same game).

I was hoping to have it all done by Christmas 2022, but...I just suck, and the game testing kept going, and stuff kept changing.  My goal for 2023 is publishing two new games, with Scrapheap being first and then...likely a dungeon crawl afterwards.

I find myself being complacent playing my games with my friends...and then my motivation to sit and type up 50 pages of rules diminishes and before I know it a month or two have gone by without me making solid progress toward releasing the damn thing.

Now I'm building a whole second table, bought another mat...etc. etc.  So the whole thing is just far bigger than "A quick knock-off rule set so my buddy can play with his Necromunda minis".  Fun fact, the guy who requested the game is no longer interested in playing! :D

I understand 100% how hard it is force yourself to write. In my opinion, forcing yourself to sit down and write creatively is one of the hardest jobs to do. I have so much respect for fiction, non-fiction, and prolific rules writers that can crank them out.

Gamers like us will always have something tempting us away from writing or publishing rules (some terrain, figs, something to prepare for a convention, etc.)...  :'(

So, as a fellow rules author and publisher, I feel your pain...!

I use Vallejos brush-on varnish after a few dramas with spray cans and sticky bones figures!

Well, after hating life (building so much MDF gets pretty old), I finally got around to spraying/painting up most of my MDF slumtown stuff from TT Combat.  I have a new mat from Deepcut as well - will be running this combo for the first time at Siege of Augusta this upcoming weekend.

So, another full setting/area to run Scrapheap in.

Thanks.  In Scrapheap there are six locations you can play games in (with players encouraged to make their own as well).  These areas have environmental conditions, location events, unique campaign bonuses, and unique random encounter tables.  So, I'm trying to have enough terrain to play them all, and have a nice different table every now and then.

Who doesn't enjoy a post-apocalyptic favela?

Assembling the MDF buildings might have been tedious, but the end result looks great! I like that the scene you have put together is tactically interesting yet plausible.

That's a great looking table. Should make for some very fun games.

I ran...four(?) games of Scrapheap at Siege of Augusta this weekend.  Players seemed to enjoy it, though I had to throttle back the rules.  There's a bit too much depth for something like a convention, I think.

Enjoyed having the table set up.  I ran 13 games over the weekend, and guess who took...ZERO...pictures.  Man, I'm good at this stuff.  I often lament anyone sitting at my table futzing on their phone during a game, but I suppose...maybe I'm the opposite and should remember to take my damn phone out of my pocket once in a while.

I have a friend who went to Siege of Augusta with his two kids. I'll see if any of them took pics of it. Anything in particular on the table that will make them say, "Oh, yeah! That one!" ??

Nah, it's all good.  I was in the dead center - ran my Old West game a bunch...then Scrapheap....then a Dungeon Crawl.  I've been scraping together some pictures from the convention's group on Facebook.  It's all good!

PS: There was a guy who played in the dungeon crawl and had two kids - so he may have even been your buddy!
