Looking good mate. Good tip on the pen, pardon the pun.

I use those pens a lot — outlining most everything on all the figures, and drawing in eyes.

Painting output on this project has slowed a bit over the past month as we've been working on a joint household Japanese model railroad project.  But I have squeezed in some figure painting time around the edges of that.

Just wrapped up a large batch of hunters for Naples.  Lots of figure choices for a single unit, or can be fielded as two full units for coöp use or a team in a multi-player game.

The natural choice for Neapolitan hunters is the 7º Reggimento, Real Africano, the best regiment in the worst army!  Originally the French Pioniers Noirs, Haitians and other black troops, the unit was transferred to the new Kingdom of Naples.

Most Neapolitann soldiers were conscripted peasants and scrapings from the jails who were quite eager to desert at the first opportunity.  My guess is that the men of the 7º stood out because as black men who spoke French with a Haitian accent they would not have had good prospects at trying to hide from the Gendarmie — so soldiering was their best option!

The bulk of the figures are Victrix plastic.  The officer has been awarded the Ordine del Gattopardo, and personally presented with a leopard fur collar by Murat.  The Cornet is the Junior Officer, or commanding Officer of the 2nd unit.  The Porte-aigle is the Veteran Hunter.  The Sappeur and Artillerist are Brigade Games' figures.

Friends and family in supporting roles come from a variety of sources.  The Native Scout with halberd and Doctor with lantern are Westwind.  Supernatural Investigator monk is Foundry.  Vivandière is Belt Fed (with stupid wardrobe malfunction fixed with some putty).  And the Occultist is Reaper.

Lovely. Any plans for a Grenadier or two in their white bearskins?

Thanks!  Just sticking with these figures and the 2 Grenadiers in shakos from the 7º.

The basic infantry here are the 4 Voltiguers.  I figure the light infantry companies are the ones most likely to have all the basic loose order skills needed for these skirmishes.

After several years' hiatus, Silver Bayonet is back on the front burner.  We had a good turnout for a demo game last week at the FLGS and at long last have a quorum to get regular monthly games going!

Got this batch of figures all painted up and flocked over the course of last week.  Dullcote is all dry now.  Had prepped and primed in their base colours awhile ago, and fairly simple paint schemes went up quickly.

1st Corps' Hussite women with polearms, and an evil sorceress from the stash make great cultists.  The stats for this cult can be upgraded from hand weapons to heavy weapons.

30 years later, the giant bats and spiders from Warhammer Quest (1995) are finally painted.

No recollection of where the big black dog comes from, I've picked up wolves of various sizes from so many manufacturers over the years.  Can never have too many wolves...

The animated suit of Armour is a WizKids prepaint that just needed flocking.

The murders of crows for clue markers are Reaper.

Some figures finished up in time for Sunday's game at the FLGS (if we don't have to postpone due to snow...)

A brace of Victrix fusiliers to add to my 7º Real Africano for the Kingdom of Naples, now that the Voltiguers I had painted previously can be upgraded to actual Voltiguers with stats in the Italy book.

A Changeling — Crooked Dice mini with perfect Raven King vibes for us Jonathan Strange fans.

And the first of two Transylvanian squads from IR51 that the French had dubbed the "Legion Inferanale".  Picked up some painted Perry command figures that just needed a bit of touch-up and some more detailing.  Changed the facing colour to dark blue.  Swapped out the drum for a musket on the drummer, and gave the standard-bearer a halberd.  (Supernatural Investigators aren't usually part of the regular military establishment, unless you're the Transylvanian regiment of the Austrian army and have some recruits who hail from the Borgo Pass and have a natural aptitude for this sort of thing.)

Need to add a few more figures to get the second squad with figures from the Fusilier command pack operational.  At that time, one of the two fusiliers in this squad will get exchanged for an Artillerist.  The other one will remain with the grenadiers, on special duty assigned to help carry their brandy (not the worst of extra details to be assigned to).

Also geared up for convention games quantities of Fatigue tokens with suitable bling.

Settled on 11mm flatback rhinestones as a good size with good bling.

As suspected, out of the bag they are nigh impossible to pick up from a flat surface.  Proceeded to implement Plan A, gluing slightly smaller (#6) flat washers onto the backs.  Now they are easy to pick up, and the extra bit of weight is nice too.
