Prussian Army 1813 project update artillery
« on: November 09, 2021, 03:47:30 PM »
I have a few battalions of Prussian 1813 figures completed already, so  I have commenced my Prussian 1813 Project a year ahead of schedule,  rather than next as the Wargames Atlantic Prussian Reserve miniatures we’re staring at me from the shelf. After two days of assembling 120 miniatures I broke them into four battalions. I then spent another two confusing days of research which cleared things up a little.

I then commenced painting the 12th and 15th Reserve regiments setting on one battalion of musketeers in caps and the other in shakos.

As the Wargames Atlantic Prussians do not come with command frames i pilfered some from my unassembled Perry Prussian boxes.

First cab off the rank is the 2nd / 12th Prussian Reserve Regiment

Close up Pictures are on my blog

Cheers
Matt

You're off to a good start there. I look forward to seeing the 'completed' army some time in the future.
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

Very nice! I suggest David Nash's "The Prussian Army, 1808-1815" for info on uniforms and such. I see a paperback on Amazon for $30, worth the price if you are painting Prussians. Perhaps someone other than Lord Bezos has a copy.

And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

I almost forgot to add some finished bits for my 1813 project!!!!

I have been very quite as I have been in Australia on business and on holidays for 6 months, renovated a house and purchased a new one for our future retirement plans, then on holidays here in France for two weeks, so very little time at the desk! I part completed these while I was in Australia, so a few touch ups and basing done now. One squadron to complete and a command base, plus add the standard.

first up some Prussian 5th Brandenburg Dragoons

cheers
Matt

I almost replied after your 3rd Squadron, inquiring about the Colonel.   :D. Glad I waited.  Well painted, lad!

Spring has sprung and during winter I have been busy painting for the Analogue Painting Challenge and in the last few weeks I have recomenced my Prussian project, but failed to post here!

Coming up Jäger skirmishers, miniatures form the Elite miniatures range.
