We've been played a fair amount of Andrea Sfiligoi's cooperative fantasy rules and having a lot of fun. Also dying a lot - the rules can be brutal if you run low XP parties (our usual in 60 XP). We recently re-ran the Necromancer in the Tower scenario, where you attempt to take out the evil necromancer who is bothering the local village/sheep/graveyard/virgins. Surprisingly, we won!
I built a new event deck for the game (for those that haven't played, the monsters operate on a "you fail, they act" model, using an event deck to determine spawning & movement, plus random events). Our deck has more movement cards and less spawning cards than the default, as we found monsters were spawning that weren't coming into the game. Once I finish the deck, I'll release it for free if others are interested.
