Based on that report, & having bought Vol 1 & 2 of Texicana
(also by Chris Swan) I picked up a copy at the 'Ascot' show.
Only had a chance for a quick read through so far. First impression
is that it will provide a fun Skirmish game. It will also get me to
paint up the very nice Boot Hill miniatures sitting in the Lead
Mountain. It does cover Commanche & even give guidance to,
should you want to, to upgrade weapons to (slightly) later, or
use it for Napoleonic, Indian Mutiny & other conflicts.
My aim is to have some early Commanche, though no-one
makes any at the moment. Warlord looks like my best option,
but even they will require some conversion work, which might
be above my skill level. Despite rumours Boot Hill have no plans
to make any in the foreseeable future, nor does Galloping Major
I even approached the nice guy at EBOR miniatures,
with similar results.
Ah well, conversions it will be. The good news being that it is
for a Skirmish & not a whole Army.
