15mm Dwarves - Which Company Produced
« on: November 30, 2021, 03:19:14 PM »
These Dwarves were painted by someone, along with a few more....... back in the 90's

I can't find the range or company which produced these. I do like that they are mounted on rams. Don't see many mounted Dwarves around. Anyone got suggestions what they are ?

They were all part of a Helms Deep diorama which I also got the guy to make for me.  Yes I know Dwarves didn't own the place, but I kinda liked the look of these Dwarves, and I had a fair few MERP modules which I was reading at the time.

I've still got the diorama. However my white cat decided he liked to lay on the ground between the buildings and therefore white cat hair seems to be everywhere....

I'm sure I've see them somewhere, but for the life of me, can't think where. Magister Militum, maybe?

Thank you both, have been hunting for a while and it only took you guys a couple of hours.

Might admit don't remember much about the company. Their Fantasy range is really nice though. I see they have flying tiger dwarves now.......

I have Goblins, Orcs, Ogres, Skeletons and siege equipment from this range which were also painted.

Thanks again

Stylistically those look a lot like the Demonworld Dwarves from Ral Partha Europe.  If you're looking for more variants to work with might be worth a look at their catalog:

Some images of the range from my blog:

That's some heavy duty Dwarves there !

Yeah like the clannish look of these type Dwarves (and Demonworld Miniatures in general)

I need to get around to figure out how to take better photo's ! I'll have look in the forum for help......

The commission job was quite a while back, but I think they were these guys:

Minis seem to match, anyway.

I have quite a large collection of 15mm fantasy, and I think the Demonworld minis are the nicest there are. They're a joy to paint.

They are very nice, and very consistent in terms of quality.  Splintered Light has some sculpts that definitely compare well with the best of Demonworld, but they're much more erratic - some of their sculptors are much more talented than others.  Both companies have a lot of stuff that works well for 15mm Warhammer, with SL having more fantasy-roleplayer-friendly figs - although RPE expanded the dEmonworld range to include what I think are the only 15mm T'skrang figs on the market, which is good for Earthdawn fans.
