Mid-life crisis? Update 02/01
« on: December 05, 2021, 09:45:35 AM »
Most peeps buy a motorbike; I buy Space Muppets!

Every 10 years or so I think about paint SMs again - the last time I did an army was waaaaaaay back when RT came out. Normally, sensibly?, talk myself out of it but this time it didn't work  ;D

Not sure what I'll use them for yet - maybe Stargrave - as they won't be vanilla GW; I've used 3d printed shoulder pads on the assault ones and have picked up some bits from Anvil and Kromech to jazz them up.

Anyways, the first few.....

Hope to get the rest of the assaults done this coming week before taking a bit of a break to avoid the worst of the seasonal madness.

Mid-life crisis's are overrated ;) lol, yes you can have more than one :o

Space Marines are much safer than a motorbike, especially when they are so well done.

Keep up the good work

Looks good.  Stargrave got me to buy a few marines as well, although I converted all the ones I did to make good and sure they'd never get used in 40K.  They're so oversized next to the actual SG plastics they make good realistically massive power armor, even the not-Primaris ones.

What about space marines on a bike 😉
The bottom ones give off the warrior monk vibe that the space marine fluff leads you to believe in.

Very nice work!

I'm as quick to slag off Games Workshop as the next guy but I have always found Space Marines quite satisfying to paint and a lot of the new Primaris big jobs are actually lovely.

As I said on FB, lovely stuff.

There's always One Page 40k or one of the various Rogue Trader 'retronclones' like Renegade Scout if you're looking for rules.

That said there's the core of a decent system in 9th ed, just too much extraneous garbage has crept in.
