The sub looks good so far.  Any chance it'll stand in for a Brit sub (you might have to squint when you look at it, though...)?  They made great taxis for commandoes...

Nah, what you need is a seaplane and a mad Irish matelot in the form of Peter O’Toole. You can reuse all the jungle terrain as a bonus.

Nice looking sub btw. Can’t wait to see the final paint job.

Murphy’s War?   Great movie!

So, luckily my grimy paint style seems to work for these villains!

Great little canoes, they look so cute. Any sign of the Black Tree package yet?

 :( Not yet!

Just noticed Butlers Printed Models now have a 28mm v1 doodlebug.

I may have to get one and a Charlie Foxtrot launcher as this could make another cool target….

Nice boats.  The black-clad chaps lurking about look good too!

Yes they are dark…but actually green with black patterning.   I tried to copy the two piece waterproof they wore from the Osprey plates.   Sewn in boots / waders.

But yes, they should look dark as they were doing their utmost to avoid detection on their trip up river.   Those that didn’t drown or get captured and shot, were none the less spotted by fishermen and farmers when overnighting and laying up.   Still, they did get some bread out of it!

Fascinating read, I would advise it if you haven’t already.   These men were TRUE heroes!

So musing with ideas for my sub pen.   A bit worried there is too much water mind but should be fun me thinks.  I will widen the depth of the pens giving more of the surface dockyard probably.

A couple of moored subs, with two parked in the pen.  Dock crane, torpedos on trolleys, a pair of sarrisa barrack huts and a few utility buildings.  Perhaps a flack nest or two.

What size table is that to fit on Digits?
If you want to fill up that empty expanse of sea  in that corner you could have a string of large buoys  (big enough to hide behind) or perhaps a moored barge or a small weather ship or patrol boat with searchlight;
or even the edge of a wall like you get enclosing an outer harbour (I don't know the proper name for this) which you could put a couple of sentries on.

Cheers.    Yes I was thinking a few flat barges….actually an AA barge would be cool…..yup.

I have adjusted it (not to scale btw but will fit a 4 x 6 board) to give more dock surface area and I want to be able to play a little inside the pen, this will look better.  Plus I will have space on the pen roof for more AA!

Just ordered the last subs to make this work.

Next month, pennies allowing, I will start getting the dock built.

I would bring the pens down to be in line with the moored submarines extend the dockside area and have a more in the other side with flak emplacements.

You are right….I need to widen the dockside a bit yet.    I’m toying with having a few relief buildings on that edge too to give it some structure.  I just need to be careful not to turn it into a model railway ya…….now I need to put rail track along the dock!  Bugger!

I will make final adjustment once I’ve assembled the subs as they are the dominant feature.   But I’m warming to the idea of the barges on the water….
