Conquest games scale comparison with Footsore help please
« on: December 12, 2021, 10:35:38 AM »
Morning all, I recently came across Conquest Games ranges of figures and was rather taken with the Robin Hood range especially the Normans. Does anyone know how they scale with Footsore. The Wolf's heads I'd like to mix with the Footsore Figures from the Kickstarter outlaws etc.
Many thanks in advance
JB

Hi, I haven’t got any of the metal Conquest figures but I’ve mixed the plastic Norman infantry with the Footsore Normans and they look fine together.

Many thanks David for your reply. As no one seems to have them they might be best left alone.

The Footsore horses may be bigger

I haven't seen the Conquest metal Robin Hood stuff, but I've painted a few of their plastics and other metals and they seem to be pretty standard 28mm to the eye and probably mixable with most, except for the very small or very large.

Take a gander here, I've got a mix of Fireforge, Gripping Beast, Conquest Medieval, 1st Corps, Mirliton, and Crusader:

They mix fine for the cavalry, with the note they do have a very specific look to them.

I have use their heads on Gripping Beast Plastic cavalry.  The Conquest Heads are larger than the plastic GB cav, and took some putty work to hide the fact.

I knew I'd read a discussion about the size of these a few years back and have tracked it down for you.
What I can't answer is if Conquest did redo these miniatures in the end or not.
There is another not Robin of Sherwood 28mm range (formerly from Rogue miniatures iirc) and now with Matchlock that others may be able to let you know the size of.

That's very good of you Westwaller, thank you and very much appreciated. If they resized then they should fit nicely with what I've got.

Not much use to you, but, I have most of the metal Wolf's head figures from Conquest and a few Footsore medievals. I took them out to photograph for you as they looked fairly similar in height and bulk, then realised that the Conquest ones are meant to be on slotta bases (I'd based them on normal 25mm round bases by a fairly long winded method. So whatever comparison photos I took wouldn't be right. Personally I think they'll still match up fairly well if you just use the issued slotta base.

Rick, that's very useful thank you. I tend to use ordinary bases slotted out to take a slottabase figure and that's long-winded too! The Conquest  Normans from that range strike me as Hollywood-esque with their heater shields and cloaked options so many thanks to you. And thanks to one and all who also contributed and Merry Christmas.
