« on: December 13, 2021, 11:18:52 AM »

I found this red fez with black tassel
https://www.icollector.com/2-Philippines-Constabulary-Uniforms-Fez-Hats_i34663062

many thanks ..good source also for the kaki hue
anyway...
not easy to be certain about fez and tassel colours..maybe some units were different from others..or, during the  first period they were black then during late twenties they become red..easy to maintain than black...first plate we can see an officer with red fez and red tassel..but maybe US officers, even among Philippine constabulary, prefered to sport different tassels from those of native constabulary headgears..second plate ..every fez is  described as " black.".and i suppose same colour for the tassel

Wonder if the red versus black fez was a seasonal fluctuation - rather like the summer/winter uniforms of the Sudanese in the Sudan?

Well I finished painting them on New Years day. Painted the fezzes red with black tassels. A lot of the old black & white pictures that I have seen show their uniforms of a dark color. Also I do have some old reference material that says the uniforms were of local made indigo. That is how I painted mine. Probably early uniforms.
