15mm Soviet Maxim team
« on: December 23, 2021, 02:24:46 AM »

Here's a 15mm Soviet Maxim machine gun team from about 1939-40, the period of the Winter War between the Soviet Union and Finland.

The troops are wearing the old-style crested helmet and puttees, which dates them: they could also serve as soldiers in the early months of Operation Barbarossa in 1941, before the new uniform changes became general throughout the Soviet armies.

The figures are 3d printed on my Elegoo Mars Pro, and the digital design is by the excellent Propylene Foliescu.

Excellent work in every respect!

The steel helmet of the 1936 model was actively used on the Eastern Front until 1943. It was also widely used by Soviet troops in 1945 in the war against Japan.
Machine guns "Maxim" of this type were produced from the period of the First World War until 1940. Then, after the Soviet-Finnish war, a wide neck appeared on the water casing, which made it possible to fill the casing with snow and ice.

Those look great, would never have suspected they were printed.
