Boxer Rebellion Miniatures
« on: January 05, 2022, 11:46:34 PM »
With the imminent release of Wargames Atlantic 28mm plastic Boxers, I'm looking to put together an Allied force for them to go up against. I'm hoping to use this thread to gather miniature options for the various European/Japanese forces that went up against the Boxers.

I'll post what I've found so far, and I hope that you will join me with suggestions - including conversion or "close-enough" ideas as well!

Beneath each picture are links to miniatures for that unit.

There's a pack of navel figures in there as well and I've got a pack of armed navel figures mastered up now that should be released soon.

Hello....are they figures representing naval Japanese troops or other allied naval types?
by the way..how they compare, as concern size, your figures with other manufactures catings such as Foundry, Old Glory, Askari ecc?...are they small/medium size type or big such as Redoubt for example....many thanks for your info

For the regular French infantry, you could use the Wargame Atlantic  WWI/WWII French plastic set...
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Ah yes, I knew I was forgetting someone!

By the way, if any of you own minis from these manufacturers, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. In particular I've never bought from Victorious or Redoubt before and have no idea what size/quality they are.

Hello. I own from most of these manufacturers (old glory, redoubt, victorious, Gringo 40, foundry, perry, 1898), also from EMP Games which released a small range of boxer rebellion minis for the west but not sure if they went out of business as their webpage is being remade.

Victorious are my favorite ones for the Western powers. Nice figures, good detail, easy to paint.

BTW, don't forget also Tiger Miniatures for american and german colonials.

Ironclad miniatures have French and Germans in their Victorian Sci-fi range, and a range of Boxers

Very similar to Victorious minis in terms of sculpting style.

I can talk about Redoubt Miniatures Boxer Rebellion range..i own some austrian and russian sailors, marines, French marsouins  ecc..the range is very comprehensive including some nice less known elements like a Skoda austro-hungarian naval machine-gun and crew...the minis are compatible with most other manufactures cause, contrary to former Redoubt ranges, the size is smaller and so very compatible..the scupting is very neat and easy to paint...not last they are sold singly ..including rider either with or without horse..so , in my opinion, the most suitable range to build up small allied units and for ordering samples from various nations as i like to do...the similar in size and also quite recent Anglo-Boer range and Russo-Japanese one provide additional troop types also useful for that conflict
