Zona alfa Rad ghouls - what to use
« on: January 07, 2022, 01:06:28 PM »
In need of some inspiration from the collective

I've settled on all the other zone hostiles but can't decide on what to use for these

I've though about using either of the following but would like some other options

Warlord Games Konflikt 47 Siberian terror squad - scale might be a bit off though?

convert some mantic ghouls - love the poses, scale seems better but I don't realy like plastics

so if anyone has any other ideas I'm all ears

I did look at their infected but several of their modles look like they are in dresses or hospital gowns? Doesn't feel very ZA to me

What about the ghouls from Mantic?

https://www.manticgames.com/games/kings-of-war/undead/undead-ghoul-regiment/

mentioned them above

like the poses just not the plastic, was hoping for something like them in metal

Studio miniatures has loads of metal zombies, but not particularly ghoulish - https://www.studiominiatures.com/shop.html

edited to add that Reaper do metal ghouls, so they're worth checking

There was another thread here back in November 2020 about the same thing - https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=128055.0 Not sure it came to any conclusions, but worth a check if you haven't already seen it

My own vote would be mantic as well, or possibly something from the zombicide games, but neither is metal:(

Further edited to add that westwind productions do a bunch of metal zombies, including a "soviet horde"

I used GW goblins from their Hobbit movie line. The variety of twisted bodies and faces seemed like a good fit for rad ghouls and they don’t have much clothing or equipment that locks in a specific time period. They’re also hard plastic, so it is easy to do conversions. I left mine almost unchanged, so I can use them in fantasy games as ‘normal’ ghouls, but it would be easy to give them modern equipment.

How about Heresy Miniatures ghouls? The running ones would work especially well I think, and if you email Andy I'm sure he can sort you out quite easily with the specific sculpts you want. He has a variety of zombies too, which may be of interest.

I don't know if you saw, but in addition to the fantasy ghouls, Mantic also makes some futuristic looking plague troops as well:

The mantic KOW Ghouls are a possibility.

With some Bolt Action bits

Combined with other plastic kits.

I saw that a while back

they look great but for some reason i want mine to have clothes and look like stalkers who've spent too much time in the zone and gone mad
