Colleagues,

This site has long been a source of inspiration for me, and it seems now it's time to share some recent work.

Below are some conversions for my Italian Condotta, with excellent Perry ACW offerings as the basis for the riders. Horses are converted, too.

Sorry, initially posted in the Workbench board - reposting here. Hope you like it!

Those are cool.

I’m assuming ACW was a mis-type, and these are based on the WoTR figures?

Thanks for the comments!

Fred, nope, ACW they are!
Sabres and gear removed, some filing to define stirrups/spurs, some GS and odd bits from Perry's Light Cavalry...
In fact, the ACW set was obtained with horses conversions in mind. However, later I thought it would be a waste not to recycle the riders  :)

Here's another picture, and disregard the gap at the horse neck - it's been filled already!

Well, the problem with conversions is that once you start, there's no stopping it... Somehow they keep coming and coming...

Thank you for all the nice comments!

Next comes the standard bearer. I have the excellent Pete's flags sheet for Anghiari, and am musing over Radia Magna Visconti or Niccolo Piccinino.

The next big thing would be to paint the lot. I want to go for a pretty generic scheme, with no "uniform"-like look. But, since the flags carry a lot of red, it might become the predominant color. What do you think?

I too hadn't picked up that they were converted from ACW cavalry.  :o :o :o   Who would have thought it but they are great.  :-* :-* :-* :-*

As to painting, I like a colour theme running through the unit to tie them in but agree that they don't want to be too uniform.  Looking forward to see how they turn out.
