Glenning's fantasy adventures
« on: January 09, 2022, 01:30:03 AM »
Alright, first thread here - this will be the fantasy thread, where I will post a myriad of different projects - mostly classic Middlehammer, converted Perry stuff - as well as some other stuff related to the Fantasy genre, LOTR included.

Anyway,  I'll kickstart this thread with some pics of my Bretonnian grave robber/brigands warband for Mordheim, classic Perry sculpts with some subtle conversions here and there!

Thanks for looking, stay tuned for more!

Those sculpts still hold their own against modern medieval miniatures. Lovely paintwork, look forward to seeing more.

Those are indeed lovely sculpts. I especially like the subdued, yet contrast rich paint job. What strikes me, is that the mail is much better than modern sets, say the Victrix Normans.

Thanks guys! Indeed, they still have a lot of character and the attention to detail by the sculptors are amazing.

Here's another figure for Mordheim, an Ostland champion converted from a myriad of different Middle- and Latehammer kits:

He is great. The iconic fish is a neat touch.

Thanks guys! Here's a Warrior of the Dead from the LOTR range which I recently finished - the first test mini for an upcoming Draugr-themed Undead warband for SAGA, using the plastic Lord of the Rings Warriors of the Dead from GW with a shield from Oathmark. A quick paintjob I have to admit - but super fun nonetheless!

Very nice. That shield is better than the GW originals.

That's a really interesting idea, been thinking about draugr for a while and that might work for me as well

Brilliant. I think you might have inspired me to strip my bright blue GW Army of the Dead and redo them in a more muted scheme.

"Rise from your grave! Go forth - and kill!"

Latest addition to my SAGA Undead project - a "good" old Necromancer (based on GW's Saruman) with a bunch of minions - skellies from Oathmark with GW heads and LOTR Army of the Dead spear tips:

Really brilliant stuff here. I also did the GW Skulls + Oathmark bodies trick, I think it's a winning combination.

Also, outstanding work transforming Saruman!

Thanks a lot guys!

@Pattus Magnus Indeed! As soon as I saw it I thought it would make a great Necromancer!

@Knight-Captain Tyr A winning combo, right? Great minds think alike!
