Modern Combat - MENA Fighters.
« on: November 06, 2022, 04:19:30 PM »
Hello all.

This thread will be a rekindling (minus hard details on the background) of my The Last War project that I began a decade ago. Previously this project was going to be just 20mm, but over time, other scales have caught up and since I'm a sucker for Modern military affairs, this thread will cover everything. 28mm will be a major focus initially, but don't discount other scales, especially 6mm and 20mm. 3mm will likely make a show as well, due to its affordability.

I'll be showcasing and raising awareness of new companies/individuals many of you may be totally unaware off. Particularly in the 3D print field. I think we're going through a golden age in terms of what's available on the market: you can get figures today that could only have been dreamed off 10 years ago.

In terms of overall background of the project, I love detailed (albeit kinda pointless) backgrounds and narrative. The whole point of The Last War project was to act as a prequel to my Sci Fi projects. More or less a history to why certain factions exist in the future. But to ensure forum rules are kept to, this will be kept under wraps.

So first off: Iraqi SWAT (influenced by the film Mosul). And some under cover GROM operatives. Both of these are from Enemy Spotted Studios version of Patreon.

Cheers  :D

Here are some Brits from Anthalonica; Royal Marine Shore Recce, a British Army Officer. I have a sizeable 28mm RM force minus the vehicles) on the paint table.

Looking good, when I painted the officer I noticed he had a definite look of Major Hewitt to him.

Quick one: here is a Merc from Anthalonica. I have a number of western mercs on the paint table.

These will double as western insurgents/rebels, as I want to have insurgent forces that represent different regions, rather than purely MENA fighters.

More good stuff, you might want to crop your photos a bit before posting them, your painting is more than good enough for a closer view mate :)

Cheers mate! I'm having problems with taking photos at the moment, this phone is way more advanced then the last one and I'm certainly no techie.

I also need to sort out some better lighting lol.

I don't bother with fancy lightning, I used to but now I just take them outside, works really well in the shade, give it a go mate.
