Figure identification help ?
« on: January 12, 2022, 02:33:10 PM »
Hi

I am going through my late friends collection of unpainted 20mm WW2 stuff (got about 750 figures altogether to sort out).  and I have a pile of what looks to be 20mm WW2 Americans . I don’t seem to recognise them or manufacturer - there are no code numbers on the figures - can any of you knowledgable people point me in the right direction .

Pictures removed as sorted

Many thanks

The look like figures from Grubby Tanks and Britannia Miniatures. :)

Hmmm . Had a look , but not seeing anything that really matches - mind a dearth of pictures on the website doesn’t help

Any other ideas anyone?

Top picture, 3rd row down, 2 matching figures on the far right are from this pack:

Top picture, 5th row down, 3rd from the left is the Thompson in this pack:

Figure to his left is the kneeling Thompson from this pack:

Engineers in the second pic are these:

So whilst there's not many pictures on Grubby's website, it seems likely that these are all in fact Grubby miniatures. These are in their "Kelly's Heroes 20mm" range by the way, rather than the Britannia range. No, I don't know why either, but you're welcome all the same.  ::)

Now I just need to sort the 750 various items out into something saleable! Infantry , mg's , engineers, gun crew , mortars etc..

Andy started the Kelly's Heroes range to be compatible with the Brittania range while the latter was still extant and before he took it over.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt
