I've decided to start a new thread dedicated to my main fantasy project  - Westeros, Essos and beyond!

In this thread I'll post all my GoT-related projects - ranging from the Dornish Wars, Robert's Rebellion, Battle of the Bastards and everything in between. I will mainly focus on, to name a few - House Lannister, Karstark, Martell and Arryn - as well as lesser Westerosi Houses, Essos sellswords, Basilisk Isles Corsairs and Hill Tribes, so stay tuned for much more!

When it comes to the minis themselves I will stick to the wide range of Perry historical minis combined with parts from GW's vast Middle Earth range as well as some bits and bobs from other historical and/or fantasy ranges.

Anyway, enough babble - here's the first test mini of this project - a Knight of the Vale. I've used a head from Perry's WOTR sprue, body from the Minas Tirih cavalry sprue, horse and spear from Perry's light cavalry sprue and a round shield from their Tribal Afghan Warriors sprue:

Thanks a lot - really appreciate it! Hopefully I'll post three Essos mercenaries based on the LOTR Fiefdom minis from GW later tonight. Until then, here's a more 'scenic' close up shot of the House Arryn knight:

Great work! I wouldn't have noticed that the body was from a LOTR miniature if you hadn't pointed it out.

Thanks a lot!

Here are the first couple of Lannister test minis! I'm going for a 15th Century Italian look with some earlier Medieval as well as Roman influences (Hill Tribes auxillia, Ballistas etc.) mixed in. All Perry plastic parts except the shields (I will replace them with the Fireforge ones with the embossed Lion rampant on them instead). The cloth and plumes will be painted red (of course) while I'll paint the armor in a copper-like gold color. - inspired by the old GW Dogs of War range.

Very nice. The perfect range for Lannisters I think.

Thanks a lot guys - it's finally time for an update: first off is a bunch of nasty corsairs from the Basilisk Isles - built using parts from the Perry Afghan and Zulu ranges, with some bits from the GW LOTR, aptly named, Corsairs (of Umbar) kit. I've also built some more Lannister light infantry using mainly Perry WOTR parts with arms from the Perry Afghan plastic kit and the swords from the GW LOTR Warrios of Dale kit. The shields are temporary, as I've ordered some nice embossed Lion Rampant ones. Anyway, can't wait to get these guys painted so stay tuned for more soon, and thanks for looking! :D
