Painting DA Normans and Saxons Question
« on: January 21, 2022, 11:20:20 PM »
I’m about to get into a project painting Victrix Normans and Saxons. Assuming I have no paints at the moment, what are the top, I dunno, ~10 colors I need for all this chain mail, cloth, hair, and flesh?

It depends how you intend to paint them. If you are just starting out you might find that buying a set of basic colours might be a good start such as those sold by vallejo either in the game colour or model colour ranges. If you're after some semblance of historical accuracy then opt for the less saturated colours for cloth although you can mix greys with basic blues and brown with basic reds to tone down the saturation. You may want to get a darker metallic colour than a standard silver to paint chain mail in but depending on your budget you could just mix a bit of black in with the silver.

I would say a mixture of earthen tones. And some form of gray and off-white.
