Ankh Gods of Egypt Boardgame Figures
« on: January 27, 2022, 05:35:36 PM »
Hi
For Christmas was bought the base game of Ankh Gods of Egypt (and am enjoying it greatly as a boardgame).  The figures in the box are really quite nice and detailed and I am looking to pain them up - (2 guardians painted to date so long way to go)

As I'm not really allowed to start new project involving lots of figures  :-[

I was wondering are there any rules out there that might suit an Egyptian based skirmish game involving the gods, guardians where I would only need to add a couple of small contingents of troops.

The gods in the box are (Osiris, Ra, Anubis, Isis and Amun)

Any advice much appreciated

Khartoum, Osprey's "Of Gods and Mortals" would seem to fit what you are looking for. That said I haven't played them myself and find the Osprey series a bit hit-and-miss. Worth seeing if there are any reviews or even opinions on this forum.

Thanks

Of Gods and mortals seems to cover the scale I want,  as you say reviews though are a little mixed

Information on forces a little limited for Egypt - Do they have rule for different Egyptian gods - the only one released as a model is Anubis?

OGAM is good fun. Its based on the Songs ruleset so it will depend if you like that or not really?

There are rules to make your own Gods so you can tinker with the lists to more accurately reflect what you want from an Egyptian list.

Wargods of Aegyptus may be another option for you.

Thanks for the tips

I'm thinking I might go OGAM but get some of the Aegyptian warriors
