My first Wargames opponent (Oscar/ Steve O'Leary, I hope you are
still out there wargaming. Whiggy) had a unit of Welsh with a 'Dagsman'
i.e. a little runt armed with just a knife. It was his job to roll under the
enemy's horses & stab at them.
I don't know if such a 'troop-type' really existed, Steve always was very
good at pulling the wool over people's eyes.

Yesterday the lads and I fought The Battle of Verneuil. It was fought on 17 August 1424 near Verneuil-sur-Avre in Normandy between an English army and a combined Franco-Scottish force, augmented by Milanese heavy cavalry.
