Penelope Pitstop and the Mutant Hill Mob by Crooked Dice
Penelope: One of two models in Road Agents 3 for £8.00 or $10.76USD (as of 31 Jan 22)
Mutant Hill Mob: £22.00 or $29.58USD (as of 31 Jan 22)
For those that like their This Is Not a Test a bit tongue-in-cheek, I thought a review of these miniatures was a good start. Obviously, a tribute to Saturday cartoons of the late 60’s (and re-ran in the 80’s) these minis capture the look of both the cartoons and the post apocalypse setting.
The Positive: Cast in metal with crisp clean features. The weapons are size-appropriate and not over-sized caricatures. The two shirtless minis have visible muscle tone and abs without it being overdone. Penelope’s model is almost perfect (I had to really look hard to see the one very small mold line on her boot). All of the Mob are armed with different weapons and there are no duplicates in weapons or mini’s appearances. There are obvious “pustules” on several of the minis to help fit in with the whole mutant thing…
The Medium: I have to admit there are a few small mold lines but they are very minimal and easy to clean. None of the mold lines obscure facial features. All minis were provided with 25mm plain bases, nothing to write home about, but at least they were included.
The Negative: I’ve got nothing.
End Comments: If they’re not your thing and you don’t like them, that’s cool, but for essentially $4.23USD a mini for the Mob and $5.38USD for her, these are definitely a winner in my estimation.
Mutant warband making is in progress…
