Some Comparison pics of 28mm Light Dragoons
« on: February 08, 2022, 04:43:56 PM »
I just happened to have these all at the same time. From Left to Right: Old Foundry, Perry plastic, Front Rank and Tin Soldier (1812 uniform with shako)

Foundry Horse, Perry plastic horse

another view of the Tin Soldier. He has a Melon head.

As an experiment, I head swapped him with a Trent Miniatures Tarleton head to make an intermediate uniform (as shown in the Perry box set painting guide). Here he is again afterwards with the Front Rank Dragoon.

I must admit I dislike the Perry plastic, he is the most bland and skinny of the lot. Front Rank is my preference, but the Tin Soldier could be a cheap option for a second unit as they are only £1 each and the very acceptable horses only £1.25.

I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt
