Warlords games Slaine miniatures game pre-order second batch
« on: February 09, 2022, 03:40:07 PM »
Warlord Games have just posted info on the up-coming Slaine miniatures game and sets of miniatures that will be coming out for it.

Balor looks amazing riding his stag.

Always loved the cominc series and great to see a game and miniatures coming-out for it.

There is even a video showing more miniatures. This is going to be a great range.

Not exactly "rabidly excited", but I'll surely be getting some of the minis at least. I was rather fond of the SD game, and much like with Judge Dredd, the Slaíne comics have grown on me over the years.

Those Fomorians look particularly useful.

Sadly only resin figures, but I guess that is what they'll be doing all their "special interest ranges" in these days.

It was you that got me to buy the Dredd game at the Stockton show a few Years back.

They have shown quite a lot of miniatures for this in the video and post about the game.Very nice to see the Cauldron in the video and Elfric looks good too.The Undead types look like they will come in handy for other games too.

The huts in the starter game look okay. Not sure if you get the paper already torn for the rooves or you have to do it yourself ;).

Finally. A staffer teased me about this years ago when I emailed them about blank stat cards for SD. I said that there should be a fantasy analogue to it, and it looks like it's no longer a tease!

There were some pictures of the miniatures shown from the open-day that they had recently.

Looking forward to seeing what else will be coming-out.

I like the look of the miniatures a lot and they've certainly captured the Glenn Fabry and Simon Bisley vibes, which is great. Good to see the Skull Swords and Fomorians so well represented. A tiny quibble was that Slough Feg looks way too beefy, but that really is a tiny quibble. There was a metal mini from another company that did a Slough Feg-esque (without naming it as such, obviously) in the classic pose - does anyone remember who they were?

This one?

Now available again from Northstar, I think it was originally released by Harlequin.

No, similar, but it was stood straight upright holding the skull out at right angles. Thanks for searching though.

I thought it was Gamezone that did the figure you're talking about Cubs, I remember it from ages ago, but it doesn't seem to be on their website - I may of course be wrong.

I really like the look of these, and the Drune soldiers look like they would fit well with the single one that Foundry produced which is pretty cool as he's really tall!

EDIT: Ah, I was right, its currently listed as Out of Stock on Hasslefree's site:

https://hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=gamezone-%252d-chaos-sorcerer-ii~gz%252d01%252d11&category=artemis-blacks~gamezone-chaos

But seems to have disappeared from Gamezone's altogether. Looks like its OOP. Warlord could have put the C&Ds out like they did when they took on the Dr Who franchise, which meant Heresy and Crooked Dice had to retire several of their "not" figures.

This version was by Fantasy Forge. The company before Harlequin.

Looking at the Lost Mini's wiki they do have them down as Harlequin. The markings under the base are Fantasy Forge from what i remember though.Picked some of the range up in blister packs many Years ago. There is also another Warlord type and the Shaman is very much like the one shown in the Warlord video.

Still got this figure and the others from the range.

Gamezone did do another similar version of him too.

depending on size of figures in this new range, would have thought there's good stuff in the Celtos range (still available from Brigade Games UK) for this.

I don't know about his 'classic' pose, but I immediately thought of this one from the Hordes Circle Orboros line by Privateer Press:

Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
