BUF Cadet Battalion (Very British Civil War)
« on: October 03, 2009, 03:58:30 PM »
Just a quickie paintjob, while i'm waiting for various bits of the aircraft carrier to dry.

BUF Cadets for VBCW.

The Cadets are Perry's Mafeking Boy Scouts, Rifles/Brens from BAM, Bergmans from Bungle (cheers!), with a bit of greenstuff to make them hold the weapon (mounted on 1p's as they are tiny).

The lefthand officer is from Foundry's Homeguard range, the other two are from Musketeer.

The General is from Artizan, and the cameraman is from BAM.

The "s" on the armband stands for students, in this case....entitling them to travelling free on public transport.... ;)

Ok that is just alsome! Now all you need is school for them to defend.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Wow! I just wodered what those Perry cadets look like. Thanks for sharing!
I´m not into the BCW but this gives some ideas....in what other conflicts could these be used? What was their original weapon?

What he said!

Arms by their sides.

I probably made a bit of a botch job of the righthands, in order to have them holding a rifle, but i'm pretty pleased with the result.

 :)

What can you use them for - anything that has a cadet force.....

As far as I know the BUF didn't have a youth wing, but I guess all things are possible.

me neither

You did a good job!

btw
this is not meant as criticism:
since the boys are standing at attention, you think it would be possible to separate the right arm from the body up to over the elbow and bend it slightly forward so that the hand can grip the rifle?

never seen them so close, so I can't judge

Yes they did... at least as far as a band went, but I'd guess they had a Cadet Force too, it would be unusual if they didn't for the time. The band wore grey shirts, which again would be the usual contrast for a band as compared to the rank and file, who could well have worn black like the grown-ups.

Good effort that man!  :D
