This took place mid-way through the campaign. Mad Bob Bobovsky and his White renegades, having being defeated by The Mad Baron, fled south, only to be confronted by V.I. Blackwoods Army of India heading north (to confront Der baron). The two armies (and the jam in the middle - Mad Bob's men) met at Akbajtal Pass, a remote spot in the north eastern Pamirs, and very high to boot - 4655m. This meant that weapons werent functioning properly (-1 to hit) and that aircraft (even the specially adapted ones) were falling out the sky.

This shows the Red approach. Note the remote hill station at the head of the pass

Mad Bob's White remnants decide to face upto Der Baron's hordes, advancing from the table edge.

Valiant (and curvy) Red Guards sieze the hill fort...

With the Reds having siezed the strategically important hill fort, and Comrade Yuri having chewed up Der Baron's left hook, it was left to the Reds to decide the fate of the improbable ruler of Mongolia. With typical Red cunning they decided to let Der Baron continue through the pass and head southwards, confident in the knowledge that he would export his mayhem to the remaining players who were fighting south of here. More soon. I'm off to the U.S. in the morn, but will be back next weekend...

I comissioned it from a very fine scratchbuilder, James at Oshiro model terrain: www.oshiromodelterrain.co.uk He specialises in far eastern stuff, but it talented across the board, and a nice fella to boot!

Cracking table. Love the rock formations, were they done period specific or perhaps with an eye on wild west also?

The hill fort looks like one I have long admired by the hand of Jim Bibbly.

These hills are getting as old as the proverbial! These were comissioned specifically for BoB back in 2002 and have seen solid service ever since then.

These reports are great Steve. I haven`t had much of a thought for BoB other than "Oh, that`s a good idea" but reading these reports and the background it`s certainly tempting to get `more`into it. And also, researching into the area there is a lot of scope for terrain, interesting and diverse to say the least.

It`s all hand carved

No, not really. I made a large sheet from four of the Wills sheets (filling in the joins) and cast it (It still took long enough though

)
The Wills sheets are rather spiffing but the only problem is their size.
