Lovely painting Dags.  I wish I had used those oval bases now.  I liked the rounded look but my 40mm circles, copying the GW Middle Earth basing, are a bit too big.  Yours look better.

Why no lances? I find that lancers make the best looking units.

Unfortunately the only open handed figures that Copplestone did were in the standard bearers pack and you get three out of the four options randomly.  I got two in Caucasian dress in my pack.  Not much use for my Orenburg Cossacks.  I could get several packs more but that might leave me with a lot more Caucasian Cossack lancer figures and if memory serves thodr regiments didn't even have lances.

Mark - That’ll be my fault! Dags is only painting what I sent him. I’ll have to send him some of those Paul Hicks Empress sculpts because, yes, lancers are what all the cool kids are using 👍

Yeah, Caucasian Cossacks didn't use the lance, so that wouldn't be much help.

Absolutely stunning ! So many of them as well!  :-*

Sorry if this has been asked before, but where are the oval cavalry bases from? Are they from plastic ?
