Last week I spent time walking in the Yorkshire Dales and managed to squeeze in a trip to Hartlepool to visit a very unique historic ship, the Bombay built, Leda class, 38-gun British frigate, HMS Trincomalee, the second oldest warship afloat.
Visits to historic ships like these, beautifully restored to allow the public to get a vivid impression of how these ships looked and what they were like to live and fight in are an excellent way to feed the imagination when it comes to our hobby and to help understand how these ships go together when building models of them, and if you get a chance to visit Trincomalee, which is very similar to Victory and yet very different, I would highly recommend it.
