My Norman Fort from Grand Manner arrived yesterday - impressive packaging - it took me 20 mins to unwrap it

I'm going to have to bump my Footsore Norman infantry up the painting queue now!

I have one too. I think I have three pieces painted up!  lol

The Grand Manner resins are head and shoulders above anything else on the market IMHO.

My painted pieces below- I have the motte and the bailey so there must be another 20 pieces I have to tackle at some point in the future! also, to add to my misery, I lost the notebook on which paints I had used on the models thus far! You can't really see it in the images but there are a lot of variable shades of brown lol

That’s a fine looking bit of kit there. Green with envy.

“Why are they all called Norman?”

Yeah, it’s an unfortunate appellation. Maybe it denotes a common flaw or failing as a human being? Norman Wisdom, Norman Tebbit, Norman Fowler, Norman Bates etc, etc.

On the other hand we have the delightful Norman Swan, the learned Norman Davies and Norman Mailer. Exceptions to every rule I suppose. :)

Ooooh, Grand Manner...  for those in a Manor. Did you need a second mortgage? Was the partner happy to be co-signatory?

Bloody nice piece.

S'pose.

They're clearly spiny, with all them lance thingies.

Question for you: when I go to Grand Manner's website everything comes painted... but you have an unpainted fort from them. Where/ how did you order the unpainted version?

They had an old school sale over X-mas where you could buy bare resins for a while. Normally you have to buy painted- I bought most of my Grand Manner resins many years ago when all you could buy bare resin so was quite lucky as I really am one of those oddballs who enjoys painting terrain!  o_o lol

Maybe pop Dave an email and ask if bare resin is still available? Got to be worth a try?

Why are they all called Norman?

Because "Bruce" has already been done ("Howls of derisive laughter!") and "Dave" would just be confusing.

Lovely painting, my dear chap.
