So wildly different.  The excellent darkly forbidding tower, the detailed Landsnechts village and the welcoming pool are all wonderful and unique.

Excellent builds! The tower is very atmospheric, the village backdrop is impressive and useful (for game boards and as a backdrop for photographing figures) and the pool is delightful, a real antidote to grimdark!

Difficult group to compete against. Again.  Personally I think this is the hardest group.

Tricky, was nearly won over by the pool, nothing at all to do with the hasslefree ladies.  :D

Good work all :)

The pool water color is spot on, looks inviting!
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

I like te atmospheric setting of the tower and the resin in the swimming pool is very well made, I love them both.

I had to vote for Blackwolf's Hermitage because it somehow reminds me of Samorost. :)

I had to look Samorost up;  and I completely agree. My stuff is always informed by artists such as John Bauer, Tove Jansson, and Slavic/Nordic myth et cetera .
And I think the Wiki entry even describes me “strange and quirky “, lol

I took a peek at Samorost, definitely 'quirky', but I like the work. :)

OK I'll admit it, you tweaked my interest. :D
Loved the John Bauer stuff. Reminds me of Fairytales my Mother used to tell us.
Never really warmed to the Moomintrolls, but Tove Jansson's other work interests me.
Always loved Viking (& similar) sagas. Tales to be told late at night around a cosy fire.
Thanks for the info. :)

Haha,I’ve got more. Some you’ll realise who they are:

Frank Frazetta
Theodor Kittlesen
Rodney Matthews
Jim Fitzpatrick
Kay Nielsen
Sidney Sime
James Cauty…there’s probably others I’ve forgotten about. Let me know what you think :)

Thanks for that.
I've taken a quick look & will be revisiting:-
Neilson, Samorost & Bauer.
Already familiar with some.
Frazetta, classic Conan etc.
Matthews, nice but a tad 'spikey'
& Jim Fitzpatrick... FANTASTIC Celtic Mythology! He also was the
creator of the Iconic Che Guevara poster and...
I wargame with his great nephew. :o :o :o

Quirky was not theme, restful is theme.  ;)

Yes the hermitage is great and well done and despite my loosing, i hope to see it do well in the next rounds.
