I painted some Victrix french line infantry (1804-1807) as volunteers during the french Revolution in 1793. These battalions were engaged on the east front and in Vendée. In 1794, two battalions of volunteers were gathered with one battalion of line infantry in order to create a Demi-Brigade.

I'm very tempting by these Victrix figs, aren't they too boring to build though ?

First they are far taller than the  old foundry. I had to base tham on 1mm round base only for they already have a small plastic base (and it would have been too much with wy Renaissance Ink thick bases).

And yes, it's bit boring. You have to carefully cut the arms and weapons away from the sprues  (reading the letters to avoid a mismatch). By the way it takes time to painted them, a lot of small details on the backpack, canteen, etc.  It's OK for 20 or 40 figures and I can't imagine painting a whole army of Victrix.

Well done again Sgt Perry and thanks for the information on the Victrix. I was thinking of getting some myself to add some more variety to my forces.

I know you are concentrating on the Vendee, but you might be interested to know that Eureka are preparing to release Austrian artillery and Chevauxlegers: http://eurekamin.com.au/news.php?newsid=EkyVyZkyVFINbmUJWD .
