Now that I am retired, I am actually going back through my old entries. Why? Well, like a number of us, I fell afoul of the Photobucket FUBAR. For those who may not remember, Photobucket was a hosting service for photos. I will upload mine there and then simply link them on my blog. When they decided the time was right and enough folks were dependent on them, they set out to gouge the public and raised their rates...was it 10 times? Something ridiculous.
Google Blogger stepped in, whether intentionally or not, and essentially gave folks an unlimited amount of photo storage as part of a blog. You have to agree to their conditions, one of which is they will modify your photo's size to be more efficient, from what I understand. So, I made the change and all future entries were hosted directly on the blog using the "Upload" option.
So, over the years, I have gone back and edited the entries where I used Photobucket. Thankfully, I found I had stored most of them on my hard drive. There are only a few I can't find. Yes, it is time consuming in some photo-intensive posts. However, as others have said, it is a living record of my hobbying. I began the Google Blog, Lead Legionaries (
http://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/) in September of 2013. So, that is more than a decade of entries about my club's gaming, projects, campaigns, and such. Now that I am retired, a fix a few entries each day. I've fixed it back to January of 2015 as of today.
Of course, part of my blogging may be due to my love of writing. Whatever the reason, I find that it provides a great record of my (and my group's) gaming!
