As I said before; I really like the concept and exceution of this project. The ships look very believable and only ever so slightly retro. I could imagine ships like this being built right now. (Unless Space-X gets the contract; then they'd actually look very scifi and futuristic ;) ).

I'm sorely tempted, but luckily there is no rules set to seal the deal (just yet), so I might be safe. For now...  lol

Larger scale full trust it is.  :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

The Yakships weapon turrets are indeed meant to correspond to those of Full Thrust 2nd Ed. The free-to-download Flight Stand is also designed specifically for FT8)

Mind you, there's nothing to stop someone using Squadron Strike, Thousand Suns, et al with these ships. Actually, I was also wondering about using Aerospace, which is the only game in the Battletech stable in which the whole heat scale thing really makes sense; damn difficult to lose heat in the vacuum of space...

Operating from an abandoned US spy base somewhere in the Australian outback, Miniature Martin produces games and scale miniatures set in parallel worlds, past and future. He is NOT trying to take over the Earth. This time.

Are they going to be Moon Nazis in on flying saucers?  :D

Oh and they look great, I kind of want to do some up as East German DDR.  :D

Moon Nazis! The temptation is real...

But no, the inspirations for Yakships are more firmly rooted in real-world nations and their cold war, nuclear glowering. Having said that, Faction 3 will have a fair number of design touchstones from a particular SF show from times past. Quite a few weeks away, though, as I really want to concentrate on getting out enough ships for a game.

Also, there will be a video showing exactly how the parts can be assembled, so watch out for that!  :)

I refuse to comment as to that absurd idea.

*Adjusts his flares*...  ::)

For those inclined, I wrote a 'story' (blog article) on My Mini Factory, which gives a little more insight into Yakships. You can find it here:

And to think I said "no"...  :`

Well, now look what's happened. Commissarmoody went and planted the saucer seed in my head, and out of the stylus popped this thing:

So! Welcome to the newest addition to the Yakships range: Armoured Fighting Saucers of WW2!

I won't dwell on this here, because this is the Future Wars subforum, so I'll head over to Weird Wars and carry on there.

Another Yakships Soviet ship soon, too!  :D

FFG-NP Kozehdub all painted and decalled!  :D

Fantastic!   :-* I might have to learn to drink Yakult if I can clear some space in my work room for my resin printer. Truly inspiring.

I'd love to see a Japanese line added.  :D

Are the parts interchangeable vs factions?

I wonder how these would scale with 3mm planes....

All the Yakships parts are interchangeable, they all use the same friction stud connection system, very much like Lego.
