I’m referring to this weird creature here:

It’s supposedly from "Dictonnaire Infernal" by Collin de Plancy. Illustration by Louis Le Breton:

http://fantastic.library.cornell.edu/bookrecord.php?record=F012

However, J.A.S. Collin de Plancy’s “Dictionnaire Infernal”, Paris : E. Plon, 1863, apparently stole the exact creature design from Salvator Rosa's "The Temptations of Saint Anthony", 1645.  So much for intellectual property!

I know of no one who currently produces any figure like it in metal or plastic.

Thanks

Dan

If a GW Khorne Bloodletter had a threesome with a Tzeentch and a Slaanesh demon, and they produced an offspring, you're there. So maybe a spot of conversion with the right bits could work.
Other than that, I am afraid I have no idea of something similar.

Might have to get someone to sculpt it or make a 3D printable model.

I blogged about this mini about 6 years ago after I'd finally found out what it was I had... I'd even posted the code on the Lost Minis WIKI and hadn't made the connection...

Wow, that's pretty cool that there was in fact a miniature based on  the drawing. And once again another reason to love and appreciate the fountain of knowledge here on LAF, the greatest tabletop gaming forum ever. That being said, doesn't look like it would be terribly hard to sculpt with the lack of details, even for someone with low to moderate skills. And failing that looking at some of the models presented here it likewise also wouldn't be that hard to kit bash something pretty damn close. If you're so inclined it would be cool if you gave us an update on how you proceeded with this and best of luck whatever you choose to do.
We haul ours to kick theirs.

Oooh!
Didn't know they did them.
Time for another wander around their site, methinks.
Cheers!

Wow, I’m really liking those CP Models’ hook horrors!  Thanks.

Also, someone sent me an email with a link to a Reaper Bones (#77262) ”Vrock Demon”:

Perhaps … with the wings removed?

That Vrock Demon looks like a great base to start with to me. With the wings gone and a bit of careful thinning down overall I really think one could come up with a pretty damn close resemblance to the thing in the drawing.

Thanks.  I’ve never worked with plastic Reaper figures before.  Are they difficult to trim and reshape?  Any special care before painting?

Thanks!

Hi Dan, while I've only messed with a couple of the bigger Reaper Bones figures I have cleaned up and modified plastic from a number of different lines and they're all pretty similar to some degree. I've had some success bending them by dipping them in hot water. The classic pinning method works pretty well on them too, especially on thicker pieces. I gave in and bought the GW mold line remover and that works great to shave things down and it has a little curve on it so it works on rounded areas but you always have your trusted old friend the Exacto knife. And I always wash my plastic stuff with a degreasing dish detergent before painting. If I think of anything else will let you know. Heh, I'm almost thinking of giving it a go myself. Good luck with whatever you decide and let us know how things turn out.
