Saw the title, saw the thread had run on to a second page, and said to my wife, says I: "I am afraid to even look."   Hilarious that there are so many suggestions that fit that description nicely.  Well, "nicely" is maybe the wrong word...

As a tangential aside, I seem to remember that one of the Call of Cthulhu books (not sure if GW or Chaosium) used a silhouette of the same De Plancy demon as an illustration for the "goblin" entry in a Dreamlands bestiary.

Does anyone else remember this?

Aha! Thanks! I must be remembering it from an earlier edition (90s?), but Chaosium does tend to keep the same text and illustrations from edition to edition.

I believe all the editions of Dreamlands have had the same front cover (one of my favourite pieces of art, I must admit) except for the first edition (1986), which has this bloke riding on a zebra:
