Well that looks absolutely splendid, a big well done to you, especially liked the graveyard  :)

Everything about this spelt care and attention, each building looks just right, the base board has a great arid vibe - I can almost see the tumbleweeds blow through, the extras like saddled horses set it off nicely and keeping it compact within a T section really works.

I look forward to another visit to Babel.

Thanks for all the nice comments. We have vowed to return to Babel soon but next time I think I'll extend the table another 2'.

Any chance of getting a link to the Ruthless rules, the two page version (mentioned in another thread)?  I googled it yesterday but the rules I found seemed more than two pages.

I think you found the right rules Fifteens - it can be a 5 page document but it's really only the first 2 pages that are the rules to play. The rest of that document is for designing scenarios and characters, which isn't necessarily needed by everyone. The author really fit quite a solid game into a very tight package.

I agree with the mob - an outstanding table!

Very glad you and your buddies were able to get together for a game.  Here's hoping it won't be two years to the next one, and your missing friend will be able to join you.

Very guilty at missing the water trough, Akula.  Not guilty at all by adhering to the One True Scale of 15 mm!   lol:o. Which raises the question of just how many "One True Scales" there are - I'll bet Leon will vote for 10 mm and Pete might vote for 6 mm and Martin will join me in it being 15 mm, etc.

Looking forward to seeing the town in its expanded mode.

And hoping it might rain to fill up the water tank for the trains!   ;). I guess the town could form a bucket brigade from that watering trough to the tank - but sure not going to get it to the top off level unless there is a natural spring under that trough.   o_o  Won't work for you, Furt, but Peter Pig has one in their western scenery range with the proper pump handle for filling from a well.  Maybe some one has something similar in 28 mm - or maybe something from O scale model railroading.

Hmm, thinking about the above got me wondering about a number of movies where the town forms a bucket brigade to put out a fire but the place the buckets are being filled would have been dry awfully quick, way quicker than the number of buckets being shown.  So, I guess movies are guilty on this front (not necessarily all of them).  Sometimes, in our gaming, we just have to get on with it and ignore some of the minor details - especially when no one makes the right thing.

Awesome town!  I half expected some Mesopotamian names for the stores or the saloon.  :)

Fifteens,
I’m with you.  Over the past two years I’ve moved from 28mm to 15mm for skirmish gaming.  I’ve got Three Musketeers, Vendee Revolt, Zulu War, Anglo-Irish War and WWII.  The only exception is my collection of 40mm Elastolin Dark Ages figures.

That looks very nice indeed, I'm not a big fan of MDF but you've made it all look very believable, thanks for the inspirational post.
Cheers

That cemetery's a knockout, and soon to be imitated.

Should the signs be a bit dustier?
