Completely agree Carlos. Variation is demonstrably less for the early tunics in that shot. They could well be pre war uniforms produced in ideal conditions. You can also see the material quality decline, with more and more shoddy being discernible in the base cloth for the later tunics. However, the fact remains that none of the top row tunics are identical in colour. Dye techniques and technologies of the time, even in laboratory conditions, were simply incapable of producing identical results. Not sure they are for natural fabrics such as wool and cotton even now…..they certainly were not in the eighties when I dyed yarn for a living…..
