How do you keep track of/view new posts?

Hi all,

Bit of a silly question. How do you all keep track of the new posts coming in?

I usually click on the 'show unread' button on the left but 1) if you happen to accidentally refresh the page or click away it seems to reset and claim all new posts have been read... and 2) it seems not every new post is shown there? I find that when I actually go into the various topics/pages, I come across threads/new posts that were definitely not on the 'show unread' page that day?

Appears to be broken.  Well, it is for me.  Last few days.

I generally use ‘most recent posts’, and go through that every morning.

Like Blackwolf I check the most recent posts when I get on then go through the different forums that are relevant to me.

I click on the title Like World War II and the new posts are marked with a black dot.
That works for me,

If that happens there is also the show all unread in the bottom right to use (just in case you didn't know)

1)If something interests me, or I want to follow how it develops,
I post a comment. Each day I check the

Show new replies to your posts.

2)I then look at the

Show unread posts since last visit.

. If it is new/fairly new
(i.e. it has few or no replies) I will look at it, sometimes just a quick scan.
If it interests me...see '1)'  This works for me.
