Reinforcements for the Reichsarmee
« on: May 18, 2022, 08:46:29 PM »
A planned refight of the Combat of Zinna a few weeks ago prompted me to paint a few more regiments for the Reichsarmee.  They might have been rubbish, but the Reichsarmee is definitely one of the more interesting armies of the Seven Years War.  The variety of uniforms and flags also helps to maintain the interest when painting them:

Thanks fellas!  :D

Yeeees... Er, re the grenadiers... They 'might not' be 100% historical... As discussed on the blog, the regiment originally wore 100% mitre-caps, but in 1757 switched to bearskins and changed its title.  At some point during that year they also seem to have been ordered to hand in the grenadier caps from all but six companies (presumably two companies per battalion, although there was only one grenadier company per battalion).  So given the level of confusion, my massive stash of spare grenadier figures and my total shamelessness, I decided to do them all in bearskins...  :D

It was late, I'd been drinking, I was young and needed the money while hoovering in the shower, etc...
