Wondering how to feed the need for lead in Belgium
« on: May 23, 2022, 06:47:36 PM »
Hi guys!
I will move to Brussels, Belgium, later this year and I started to look for shops in Belgium to provide me with lead (or hard plastic) to deal with my addiction.
Right now I only found one shop in Mouscron, which is approx. 110 km south-west of Brussels.

Since I left Belgium almost 30 years ago to head back to the Fatherland, I was wondering if there are any (known) shops in Brussels where you can buy stuff like Frost- and Stargrave, Wargames Atlantic boxes, paint, glues, and who-knows-what.

Thanks in advance guys.

Welcome back, can´t help though but there are online shops that might help to feed the need for lead such as Philibert (FR), Battlefield Berlin (DE) etc

Get in touch with the Tin soldiers of Antwerp. they have a homepage and are on facebook. They probably can help you out and furthermore the hold the Crisis convention in Antwerp. It is on the 5th of November this year.
As far as I know it is not that far from Brussels to Antwerp by train.

Even though you'll be located in Brussels and not in Antwerp, I can highly recommend Modelbouw verschooten, @ Eiermarkt 31, Antwerpen, when you're in the neighbourhood.

Since the demise of the last FLGS in my native Breda (NL), this is the store I will always swing by, whenever I'm in Antwerp. They are well stocked in modeling supplies, but also have loads of miniatures, kits and other gaming supplies :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
Find a Way, or make one!

There is/was a "Warhammer" shop located in the very center of Brussels.  Perhaps one of the employees can help with you question.

There's also Ballien Modelshop in Antwerp. Huge selection of model kits but very few figures alas.
https://www.modelbouw-baillien.be/en_US/shop

Another good one for kits is Speelgoed 2000
https://www.speelgoed2000.be/

Both shops are actually less than 10 minutes drive from each other.
Also a Games Workshop store but since there's one in Brussels I'm sure you don't need another one.

BTW I'm the hon. Chairman of TSA so if I can help out with any info on our club or Crisis please don't hesitate to contact me.

Since Brexit we tend to order almost exclusively  from EU dealers as ordering directly from the UK has become prohibitively expensive and sometimes parcels simply don't arrive at all.  There's a thread on this forum giving details on at least 50 or 60 of them.
Personally  I've always had an excellent service from Tabletopper (NL), May 40 (NL), Atlantica Juegos ( ES) Fredericus Rex( DE) MiniaturicuM ( DE), Battlefield Berlin( DE), PWork Wargames (IT) and many others.
If you're into smaller scale figures there's of course the truly superb Van Dyck range in Belgium.https://www.facebook.com/Van-Dyck-Models-and-Figurines-1506760799574390/

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

I am sorry for the late reply, but July has been somewhat hectic.  :(
