Adventure Time!
« on: May 24, 2022, 03:17:48 AM »
I think this may turn into it's own unique project, so started a separate thread. It's inspired by a post-apocalyptic tale of a boy and his dog...

NO! NOT THAT ONE!

Yeah, that's better.

It started with these two figures from Oldschool Miniatures, from the Wasteman range they picked up from Thunder Child Miniatures. I based them up for my sci-fi project instead of the fantasy project because Adventure Time is literally a post-apocalyptic setting. Also, they really wouln't fit in the fantasy setting, but I'm still sort of open with the sci-fi stuff. However, it's still more like a side project.

"Project?" you say. "But that's just two figures. Certainly you're done now."

Yes... but no. I couldn't let it end there. Based on the more gritty post-apoc take on the two heroes of Ooo, I'm looking for ways to expand with more figures, kitbashes, and maybe try sculpting a few things myself. So next up is the low hanging fruit. Er, the easiest to come up with.

Reaper's "Penguin Attack Pack" with three giant penguins, and a "dire penguin." I'll likely pick up a few more packs of these and use them for some sort of savage predators in various games. Obviously an Ice King is needed at some point.

Slime Princess. I just made a tiara for a Reaper "carnivorous pudding" and painted her greenish.

Not sure where this will go. Probably to distant lands. Probably at least a few more figures. Maybe some sort of weird skirmish gaming? Not sure.

You can never have too many Gunthers. Love 'Adventure Time', truly a weird classic and clearly written by someone with a love of D&D style roleplay games.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Great idea and so much conversion potential. Some banana guards would be very cool and some candy zombies to battle them.

Great, I'm waiting impatiently for more! And I like penguins, we all need more penguins in our games!

Definitely, that's the appeal to me. Especially in the early episodes. The first episode I saw was The Enchiridion! and I was hooked.

I hadn't thought of either yet. Both excellent ideas!
