(Kickstarter) Midlam Miniatures The City Guard
« on: May 28, 2022, 03:33:45 PM »
New Kickstarter from Midlam for some human city guard figures - link

9 figures for £22 seems reasonable (smaller, but more expensive per figure pledges are available), but not their most innovative campaign :-I

Already well funded, with delivery August 2022

Not the most innovative but definitely a wider appeal than some of their other kickstarters (which have also been great) I'll probably get a batch.

Id like to see a comparison line up with other figures.  I believe these run small and could be dwarfs compared to Like a Reaper figure and the like.

Very nice figures, 9 for £22? Seems more expensive than a lot of other companies who get knocked for the price of their packs though! I do like the figures though

I like them. And it may be just me, but being heavily into scouring Ebay for Rogue Trader miniatures these days, I can only comment that the price is more than reasonable...

Also, I've pledged for a couple of their campaigns before and they delivered on time and the quality is great.

It's that I'm already invested in my Confrontation Cadwallon city guard, or else I'd pick these up in a heartbeat :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I was thinking more about Reaper, where individual metal figures now run around £6 per figure, and even their Bones stuff doesn't seem as cheap as it used to. I just bought a GW plastic figure (the new Genestealer Cults model) and it was £21 (I bought it from Wayland, but even at 20% off, it was still way too expensive).

I may pick some up at retail, as I feel they should be useful. I'm just not sure for what ??? Most of my fantasy plans involve villages, where one or two could be justified, but not all of them.

There are 13 days left, and I can feel my will to resist starting to weaken o_o

I don't think £2.44 per figure is bad for metal models and I'm a Yorkshireman.

They look like Martin Baker sculpts, and the stuff he's been doing for Midlam this last five years or so tends to be a decent 28mm size. They mix nicely with modern figures, a smidge larger than my more vintage ones (yet still comfortably compatible) , and have established themselves as part of the core of my collection. I jumped aboard this project as soon as I heard of it. I've been very happy indeed with my Midlam figures, and the way they run a Kickstarter campaign.

I've just backed it, as I should be able to find a use for the figures.

They've exceeded their stretch goal, so there's a free figure added to the full guard pledge :D

Good sculpts, good casts, good value for money ( got the young wizard apprentice ks from some years ago ). Unfortunately as I'm an EU-citizen it's becoming too expensive to buy into their kickstarters. Will have to arrange something when I'm in the UK again but they've got plenty of interesting ranges, both new and some of the older Metal Magic miniatures.  :)

Phew, been shifting house all day and just sat down with 2 hours left on this and managed to pledge. Looking forward to them.

Not minis I needed but personally I think Midlam are great value. I’ve picked up loads of their hobbits and the recent card game. The KS took £7K so obviously popular!
