3 musketeers post years ago?
« on: May 30, 2022, 08:32:20 AM »
Does any recall or indeed have any pictures from a post years ago that had nice little set ups on picture frames using 3 musketeers movie scenes?

Cheers!

Yes, it was vikotnik's and I had the pleasure of playing on it this one time at Crisis.

A lot of the pictures seem to be gone, but I still have most of them saved somewhere I think, if Vikotnik doesn't.

All piccies seem to have gone and no link elsewhere that I can see...if someone has them I would love to see please. I am part way thro  characters for both sides in 54mm /1/32 or rather 60mm 1/30 painting and conversions and am looking for inspiration. I am melding the TTM theme with The Cardinal's Blades, Pierre Pevel's novels about the same period which have a touch of fantasy in them... Thanks - and if anyone has any other useful links especially to the films I'd be grateful.

I too had the pleasure of playing Karsten’s Three Musketeers tavern brawl game on that board, a good few years ago on one of our trips to meet LAF friends in Germany.
Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures - but I do remember the game was very well designed and beautifully realised (like all Karsten’s games), and was a lot of fun to play :)

The pictures of this board remind me of the board in this video (which look like an interesting set of rules) - I guess there's only so many ways of laying out a courtyard with a fountain for a swashbuckling game!

Wow, those are lovely scenes for a Musketeer game and a good video. Always wanted to play a three musketeers game.

Been a question of what miniatures, what rules as well as time and money for another project... See some miniatures three musketeers related are now available in 1/72 which could be a cheap and quicker option. See for example: http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=2617

Hi, the Two Fat Lardies are reportedly working on a set called "Flashing Blades", which sèem to have been in development/playtest for over a year. They seem to be small scale played on a 2' x 2' board. I am attending a "Lard" event on July 9th where they are being demonstrated as a participation game so I will learn more then. No idea if they will be a stand-alone rulebook or just rules released as part of their annual "Special".

Perhaps my own 60mm project might also give some inspiration: https://swashbucklingsessions.blogspot.com/search/label/Three%20Musketeers

it was great fun. I believe Karsten used the rules as provided by Eureka games to go along with the figures.

By the way judging from comments made by Rich Clark at Ouseing Lard back in July I don't think they will be out any time soon....

Yes, he did. I intend to use them too as they are simple to learn/use and have a lot of possibility to have fun with them.
