Here’s the game I’ll be staging at a British (and German!) Lead Adventurers Meeting in a couple of weeks time.
Thought you would like to see the scenario… (although not the specific player objectives and victory conditions, as these will be known only to each player).
Scenario: Massacre at Deer Creek - 1758Background1758. The French & Indian War rages across the north-east Americas.
In a backwater of upstate New York, life continues in the tiny settlement of Deer Creek on a fast flowing tributary of the Ohio River.
Two settler families eke a living from trapping fish, hunting elk, and farming clearings hewn from the forest. Their thin resources are stretched to breaking point in these troubled times by a section of 78th Foot billeted upon them. But the good people of Deer Creek feel well protected from the threat of war, with the well-armed stockade of Fort Albemarle standing guard on a bend in the river a short march distant, accessible by bridge south or ford to the east.
But the settlers’ sense of security is misplaced… War is about to come to Deer Creek…
In the shadow of the surrounding forest, French-allied Abenaki and Huron Indians are moving towards the settlement. They will come from two directions, encircling Deer Creek and cutting it off. Their intent: to kill the men, loot the provisions, and carry off the women. They aim to strike with speed and without quarter before relief can arrive from the small garrison at Fort Albemarle.

Points to noteOn turn one the Indian players move first. On subsequent turns, initiative is decided by card draw.
Colonel Kyte may not despatch soldiers from Fort Albemarle until firing is heard or a messenger from Deer Creek reaches the fort.
Player 1 may not fire or despatch a messenger until hostile Indians are clearly seen.
Colonel Kyte may not move his cannon from Fort Albemarle.
And that's about it...
