Looking for an obscure cartoon
« on: June 30, 2022, 11:21:02 AM »
Maybe not that obscure but we’ll see  :)

All I can remember was that I saw it in the mid-eighties (?), it had a Moebius feel to it and unfortunately the only part of the actual cartoon I can remember was some sort of kid, hiding in a massive, pale grey, broccoli looking tree that was located in a desert with a few other broccoli trees dotted around.

I also seem to remember something (animal maybe) flying around looking to rescue the kid.

Anyone got any idea? It’s been bugging me for ages now  lol
cheers

James

Might it have been "Les Maitres du temps", a 1982 french animated film from a Moebius script and character designs?

https://www.google.com/search?q=les+maitres+du+temps&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjptvzu_9T4AhUSwKQKHanJAm4Q2-cCegQIABAA&oq=les+maitres+du+temps&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIFCAAQgAQyBAgAEB4yBAgAEB4yBAgAEB4yBAgAEB4yBAgAEB4yBAgAEB4yBggAEB4QBToECAAQGDoICAAQsQMQgwE6BAgAEAM6CwgAEIAEELEDEIMBOggIABCABBCxAzoECAAQQzoHCAAQsQMQQ1C3Bli4HGDnHWgAcAB4AIABWYgBvQqSAQIyMZgBAKABAaoBC2d3cy13aXotaW1nwAEB&sclient=img&ei=Ln-9YunnDZKAkwWpk4vwBg&bih=825&biw=1527&rlz=1C1GCEB_enDE920DE920

I've got that one on BluRay, so it should be more or less readily available, although I don't know about English versions. It's not exactly obscure here in Germany, but only rarely shown on TV these last few decades.
