Frostgrave: Fireheart
« on: June 24, 2022, 09:44:20 AM »
The new supplement for Frostgrave is coming out next month.

We're taking pre-orders for it now.

There will be a Fireheart figure release, but it won't coincide with the book, they are moving at different speeds.

We'll get pre-orders for the book out, but if you're not in a rush for it, you could wait for the figure release where we'll offer the same pre-order price in a figure/ book combo deal.

The new figures will include Constructs, Wizards and monsters in metal, and in plastic the Female Barbarians.

US distributors keep telling our local store your stuff is unavailable.  Haven't been able to restock plastics from ACD or Alliance once this year, some boxes (knights, soliders 2, demons, gnolls) have never been in stock, and the only copy of Blood legacy that ever showed up was the one I mercilessly nagged about for almost six months.  I don't know what the problem is, but this needs to get fixed.  The store quite rightly prioritizes available play space based on in-store sales, and ATM we're not going to be able to game there anymore due to having to buy online.  It's impossible to recruit new blood with nothing on the shelves, and now even the existing player base are becoming pariahs lumped in with the GW players who home print everything and roleplayers using pirated pdfs.

I suspect ACD & Alliance can't be bothered resupplying.

What's the stores name? Maybe we could approach them direct. We have a large number of US stores that order regularly from us direct.

You could point the store to Golden Distribution. They are our proper distributor, they order monthly and they carry all of our lines. The books can come from Osprey direct, they are owned by Bloomsbury, they have their own distributors.

The female barbarians seem like they will be a great addition to the Frostgrave plastic lineup. If they follow the precedent set by the Soldiers 2 set and are in sensible clothes I’ll have to get a box - there are lots of “fur bikini” barbarians around, but not so many plausible ones…

Zombie Planet.  Their store page is here:  https://www.zombie-planet.com/  I doubt he'll deal direct, going by past difficulties with this sort of problem, but you're welcome to try.  If you do talk to him and he declines I'd like to know about it.  He uses Golden as well as ACD and Alliance, but the don't seem to be much if any better at filing orders for your figs.

Whoever the store uses for a traditional book distributor doesn't carry Osprey's game books, only the historical books and not all of those.  What books he's gotten came in through the three distributors already mentioned, and the only one that showed up in any numbers was Q37 - which is not selling because the store has no minis and no core books.

Best of luck.

Calling modern game distribution merely bad is like calling Helen of Troy a bit attractive.
